Food and Hygienic Applications

Plate Heat Exchangers can be used in various systems in different food production facilities.

Hygiene/health is the most important criterion in food production. For this reason, Plate Heat Exchangers used in food production facilities are made entirely of stainless material. The products only come into contact with gaskets that have received a Certificate of Conformity and exchangers made of stainless steel.

Examples include pasteurization systems, heating and cooling systems (single-stage, two-stage or regenerative).

Pasteurization is a process applied to eliminate harmful bacteria in milk and dairy products. Plate heat exchangers can be used comfortably in liquid food pasteurization thanks to their multi-stage design. The biggest advantage of using plate heat exchangers in pasteurization is that they can reach high regeneration values.

When processing food products such as milk and dairy that are prone to bacterial growth, hygiene is the most important factor. To prevent bacterial growth and ensure hygiene in this processing line, cleaning operations must be carried out at certain times. The liquid used during this cleaning is called CIP. CIP must remain at a constant flow and temperature. Plate Heat Exchangers ensure that the CIP liquid is maintained at these desired values.
